The 901 RS even goes a step further, as this particular RS donor car sports an impressive racing pedigree – and features our first ever custom-designed stainless steel bracelet!

The dial of the 901 RS is cut directly from a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7.

The Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 (“Rennsport”) was the top first-generation 911 and marked the very first production street/race 911 widely offered to the public. Only 1.580 were ever produced, but as the car is still considered by many Porschephiles to be the finest 911 ever built, prices on those still around have since skyrocketed, making it one the most sought-after and legendary sports cars ever built.

We managed to find parts from one these legendary Porsche Carrera 911 RS´s to go into our latest Limited Edition. But not just any RS...

The 901 RS is the very first timepiece from REC Watches introduced on a stainless steel bracelet. This one-of-a-kind bracelet follows the curvature lines of the 901 case shape – and takes inspiration from the characteristic soft, curving corners of the classic Porsche 911.

The very shape of the 901 collection is strongly inspired by the soft corners and characteristic rear air grille of the iconic Porsche 911.

The 911 is perhaps the most iconic sports car of all time and looking at the design now and then, the changes have been subtle. A clear indicator that the 911 design stood the test of time. So will your 901 timepiece.

The power reserve disc at 12 o´clock is created to resemble the fuel - and oil gauge of the early 911´s.

On the 901-01 and 901-03 the back disc is all black when fully charged, whereas on the 901-02 the disc is all white when fully wound.

The 901 Collection has a power reserve of more than 40 hours.

The dial is cut directly from a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS and coated with a grey, semi-transparent lacquer. This ensures no two watches are identical due to the scratches in the patina dial.

The contrast in the rough dial and the brushed and polished 316L stainless steel case sets the 901 apart from any other watch out there.

The face and hands of the 901 Collection features 4 functions:

• Date
• Month

All are inspired by the classic 911 dashboard. Something a true 911 aficionado will spot immediately.

The seconds indices around the outer dial is written in the iconic Porsche font.

The beauty is in the details and we wanted the 901 Collection to pay tribute to the car from which it was partly made as well as having its own identity and standing on its own feet. In all honesty, we would argue that the mission is accomplished.

The caseback is inspired by the highly distinctive Otto Fuchs rims of the classic 911´s – and even the rotor is decorated to resemble the drilled brake discs!

The iconic "Fuchsfelge" was designed by Otto Fuchs in the early 1960´s, when Porsche approached the designer as they needed a very special wheel for their prototype of what was to become the Porsche 911. The rest is history.

The crown itself is designed to mirror the horn cap of the early 911 steering wheels.

The REC logo on the crown has a story of its own. Look carefully and you will notice three gears: One for Recover, one for Recycle, one for Reclaim– the very DNA of the REC concept.

Every single watch is engraved with the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) of the Porsche Carrera 911 RS: 9113600237 – not to be mistaken with the serial number of your watch which you find on the caseback.

The VIN plate cut-away area is a discrete reference to the number plate cut-in of the modern 911´s.
